This has stuck with me my entire life.

Esther, I remember when we were very very little and we was playing in your back garden. For some reason i asked you if your mum was blind, and before you could answer your mum shouted out "yes i am but im not deaf". To this day i still dont know why i asked but i will always remember that reply from your mum.
